Personal care assistant / sen tutor - united kingdom, hull, east yorkshire

wanted : part time tutor / personal assistant for 15 year old non-verbal autistic girl.

no previous experience is required, enthusiasm and a positive attitude is much more important to us.

all of our tutors receive extensive and ongoing training (multiple initial training days with our current staff followed by workshops every 2 weeks with a teaching consultant) on the applications of applied behaviour analysis ( aba ) to teach children with autism to acquire skills and maximize independence in the areas of communication, academics, socialisation, self-management of behaviours and daily living skills.

we have 1 week day available (on a day of your choosing, 9.30am - 5.30pm, however we can be a little flexible with the times if needed) for 50 weeks of the year, working 1:1 with our child in our home. however, we are looking for candidates who have flexibility as weekend shifts (a single 8 hour day on saturday or sunday) are needed 2-3 weeks of the month and we would require someone who can cover holidays and sickness of other staff, including 3 full weeks available this november. there are also workshops to attend with the aba consultant every 2 weeks.

you will work on a self employed basis (if you've never been self employed we can provide support and information to help you). we pay £11 per hour.

this job offer will be subject to enhanced dbs checks.

part of our daughters program is assisting her to develop personal self-help skills (toileting, washing, getting dressed etc). because of the personal nature of the role we can only accept female applicants.

we live in a rural area 30 minutes outside of hull near patrington, so a driving licence and your own transport is essential.
