the opportunity

lab technicians perform essential duties in interpreting and conducting test requests made through the engineering and material development groups, preparing test equipment parameters and samples to initiate the evaluations, completing the analysis through consistent and controlled testing on calibrated quality equipment, and reporting results through data recording or data uploading.

essential responsibilities include:

setup testing parameters on equipment and verify proper operation to specifications.

troubleshoot causes of early failures with engineers / chemists to determine opportunities for improvement.

manage calibration of equipment to ensure compliance to internal and iso standards.

technical/functional skills:

strong organizational and communication skills

broad based product processing and testing knowledge

computer proficiency in microsoft word and excel, and in uploading data to the timken network

able to set up test procedures and calibrate inspection and monitoring equipment

ability to communicate and collaborate with engineering and material development groups

basic qualifications:

high school diploma or equiv.

associates technical degree preferred

asq certified quality technician preferred
