fawkes and reece are currently assisting in the search for a senior quantity surveyor to join a leading regional main contractor based out of their office near fareham. the contractor is one which works across the commercial, education, leisure and residential sectors with projects typically valuing up to £30mil. projects are predominantly on jct forms of contract and the majority are for repeat clients. you will be required to act as commercial lead on a £15mil new build care home project for a repeat client in selsey.

the ideal senior quantity surveyor will have:

pre-contract:

attending pre-commencement / pre-contract meetingsattend meetings regarding all financial control procedures associated with the design development to ensure the recording of perceived risks and opportunities in the bid as required.

post contract:

financial reporting and controlcontinually monitor and review, in detail costs and values of the works at hand.commercial forecastingensure that the financial reports are produced and submitted in line with the company's reporting timetable.attend regular review and commercial control meetings.liaise closely with the design and project management leads to ensure cross controlmanagement of riskmanagement of contract variationscontract review and production meetingsmain contract and external valuations and final accountsmanagement of consultants and subcontractorsfeedback to the commercial manager of any price elements or unit prices which are considered to be seriously at variance with cost, giving details of shortfall.provide constructive comments on improving efficiency

the ideal senior quantity surveyor will have:

a construction related degree/equivalent qualificationsolid main contractor experience experience as commercial leadbe in commutable location to chichesterhave the right to work in the uk.
