Mec technologies is hiring structured cable technicians! mec technologies headquartered in chelmsford, ma provides steady work in the merrimack valley and the greater boston area. mec provides services for commercial projects with a concentration on health care facilities, higher education and commercial buildings. we are looking for highly motivated individuals who would like to join our dynamic team and have a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position.

pay is negotiable based on experience. $800.00 sign on bonus for qualified candidates.

the structured cable technician will be responsible for:

-installation of category 5e, category 6, multi-pair backbone copper cable and fiber optic structured cable
-distribution systems and outlet installation.
-fire stopping and pre-termination including organizing, forming and labeling cables to industry and customer standards.
-terminate, assemble and install 8-pin modular connectors and coaxial connectors, light crimp connectors and optical fiber connectors.
-accurately test copper and fiber cables to required certification parameters utilizing appropriate test equipment.
-reliability and professionalism will be required on a daily bases.
-mec has a reputation for excellence in the field and you will be expected to meet this criteria in everything you do.

requirements include:
at least one year experience as a structured cable technician
must be a motivated individual, trustworthy and have excellent work habits.
trade/high school education
