tooling technician

2nd shift hours: mon-thurs 3:00pm-1:20am, fridays 1:00pm-9:20pm if needed
3rd shift hours: sun-wed 10pm-8:20am, ot as needed

what you will do:

react to problems associated with die cast and trim dies on the production floor.

repair die cast dies, trim dies and fixtures using precision measuring tools.

service die cast and trim dies prior to die set.

communicate stock availability and check inventory.

read blueprints and make cores and punches per the blueprint.

build and maintain fixtures per blueprint.

hook up and operate a hot oil machine.

knowledge of proper polishing techniques.

operate the hydraulic and electrical test machine.

analytical problem solving techniques.

performs machine operations using drills, grinders, mill and lathe.

maintain clean and orderly work area.

tig weld tool components as needed.

what you will need:

two year’s related tooling/tool room experience.

ability to read blueprints.

ability to read precision measuring tools.

knowledge of basic math, reading and writing.

basic knowledge of mills, lathes, surface grinders, radial arm drills and spotting press.

cnc programming experience a plus.

mechanically inclined.

high school diploma preferred.

valid forklift and overhead crane license

requires basic plumbing skills.
