position summary
lobster place wholesale customer service representatives (csr’s) are the primary point of contact for our wholesale customers, the best restaurants, hotels, caterers, specialty food retailers, and cruise lines in the new york metro area. when the chefs and purchasing agents at these businesses need to place a seafood or gourmet food order, check the status of an order, or ask a question about our products or services, they turn to our team of csr’s. if you’re a great problem solver and excellent communicator, and if you have experience working with or in the food service industry, then you might be a great addition to our customer service team.
on a day-to-day basis lobster place csr’s respond to customer phone calls and emails; enter customer orders in our computer system; and provide information about product availabilities, lead times, and prices. they share up-to-the-minute information about customer requests with our purchasing, sales, production, and transportation teams to keep our efforts coordinated, and they are critical to ensuring we meet our promise of delivering exceptional products “on time ~ as ordered”.

duties and responsibilities
the primary duties of customer service representatives are as follows:
receive customer orders via phone, email, text, and the web and accurately enter them in the seasoft computer system. coordinate with production and transportation teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment and timely delivery. research and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and requests in a timely and detailed fashion. assist with mass communications including the maintenance of customer contact distribution lists; constant contact price list communications; customer notifications of product shorts and substitutions; and other outreach as directed. maintain detailed knowledge of our products and services so you can be a valuable information resource to our customers. other duties, as requested and required.qualifications
night shift availabilityy (6pm-2am) associates degree or equivalent experience 2 years of experience in the food service or seafood industry high volume customer service and/or call center experience a plus friendly, respectful, empathetic, and professional attitude excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong ability to listen strong teamwork and collaboration skills able to master the detailed characteristics of 300+ seafood and gourmet products proficiency with ms word, excel, outlook strong general computer skills and the ability to learn seasoft erp and other web applications as necessary spanish language skills a plusworking conditions
lobster place csr’s will maintain a remote work schedule but may be required to work from the office from time to time. a 2 to 3-week training period will take place 100% in-office with occasional visits to our production floor, which is a cold, wet environment.
essential functions of the job
the essential functions of the csr position include long periods of office work and occasional presence on the production floor. the position requires the ability to speak clearly and fine motor skills for the use of computers, phones and other electronic devices.
