fabric maintenance engineer / handyman

one of the uk s leading maintenance service providers, with an ever-growing portfolio of new contracts and buildings, are looking to add a skilled handyman/fabric engineer, to a highly successful contract

this role is operating within a collection of properties l working alongside other skilled maintenance engineers.

duties & responsibilities

as the buildings fabric maintenance engineer/handyman you will be required to attend a variety of pre planned maintenance (ppm) and reactive maintenance tasks, covering the below:

• carpentry, painting and decorating, basic electrical, and plumbing tasks.

• knowledge of tools and equipment needed for individual jobs

• up to date with health and safety standards, practices and regulations

• plumbing: basic plumbing tasks, such as changing taps, sinks, fixing broken toilets seats, isolations of leaks, registering legionella test results, tap temperature checks etc...

• electrical: changing lamps, ballast, bulbs

• painting & decorating: filling in holes, replacing carpet tiles, repairing scuffs in walls, repainting areas of the offices.

• carpentry: fixing broken doors, replacing damaged door frames, fixing door cabinets, hanging doors (desirable), changing locks (desirable) repairing broken furniture.

• you will also be required to assist with meeting room set up, this will be moving chairs tables and various other furniture around in accordance to plans when necessary.

this role is very client facing so a friendly yet professional personality is needed as you will be working in the main offices.

package

• salary gbp26,000.00 per annum

• 25 days holiday + bank holidays

• 3% pension, mobile phone, ppe and uniform • overtime rate of double & time half

hours

• 8am to 5pm monday to friday with occasional overtime

requirements

dbs check to be given must be clear

• city & guilds level 2 or nvq level 2 in a trade related field such as carpentry, plumbing etc...

• maintenance/construction experience

• ability to work in the uk

• excellent communication skills both verbal and written

• ex-military desirable
