an excellent opportunity for an experienced class 1 hgv driver to join a well-established agricultural company based in hertford.
the company:
they are an established agriculturally based family business which has diversified into a number of different revenue streams throughout the years. one of which is a fleet of 7 bulker artic lorries, 2 low loaders and a rigid 8-wheeler. much of the work that the haulage department take on is agriculturally based, moving grain, straw or farm machinery to and from mills or farms.
the role will require you to have regular contact with site personnel and provide exceptional customer service, whilst ensuring that all plant & equipment arrives at the delivery site safely.
role & requirements:
experience with walking floor trailers, moving grain, bulk tippers, flat beds & low loaders.
experience with strapping, chaining & roping.
able to load & unload plant & machinery.
able to swop loaded trailers.
plan and complete journeys to the optimum time advantage according to taco rules and regulations. carry out daily vehicle and load checks. complete relevant paperwork to ensure paper trail is kept up to standard.
candidate requirements:
happy to do up to 4 nights out per week. hold a full clean lgv (class 1) licence. have a valid driver qualification card (cpc). to own a valid digital tachograph card. must have a minimum of 12 months driving experience. be physically active due to the nature of the role.
excellent communication skills.
ability to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism. fork lift / telehandler.
due to the nature of this role, employees are expected to be co-operative in working outside their normal hours as necessary to cope with varying situations and workloads.
this is a full-time position and in return the company is offering a competitive salary up to £46,000 per annum, depending on experience.
