this is a great opportunity for someone who is in a materials testing role who is looking for a move into a more senior position.

we have an exciting opportunity for a senior materials technician to oversee the sampling, testing, and recording and reporting requirements of all our recycled aggregate products.

in this senior position, you will participate in r&d work on various material streams, planning process trials, writing trial protocols including planned sampling procedure and analysis suite, and working with the ops team to carry out the trial and collating the results.

based at our site forth, you will ensure the laboratory environment and test equipment is well maintained in accordance with health and safety and associated testing standards.

as a senior materials technician, you would also be responsible for maintaining relationships with external labs, searching for alternative and more economic analysis options, and organising material analysis and couriers.

other elements of the role include undertaking the quality control of all materials and contributing ideas on how to improve overall quality and performance. you will monitor trends and analysis following testing of materials and finished products.

you must also be willing to work outdoors, carrying out sampling of material streams for multiple on-site processes, across various operating sites, conforming to sampling protocols and schedules.

about you

the ideal candidate for this senior materials technician role will come from a metallurgical/aggregate lab technician background and have 3-5 years' experience as a minimum.

you will be able to carry out the required in-house analysis and make recommendations on how to expand the testing suite in the on-site lab.

you will be professional, detail oriented and diligent, have relevant qualifications, and be able to work both alone and integrate as part of the existing technical team on relevant projects.
