Head chef for busy pub - united kingdom, theale, berkshire

are you a talented head chef or sous chef looking to make your mark in a pub/restaurant with lots of potential?

our family run business owns the volunteer pub in theale, near reading. theale is a pretty village on the west side of reading near the ikea store. it has a very community-led atmosphere but is surrounded by thousands of chimney pots and has the busy arlington business park on its outskirts

since the end of lockdown last year the pub has gone from strength to strength increasing both wet and dry sales and we are now looking for an ambitious chef to design and implement a menu which will take our food and our reputation to the next level

you may already be a head chef looking for a new challenge or possibly an experienced sous chef looking to step up to the hot seat. what we know is that we are looking for a special person with creativity, flair and a desire to produce food at a level that will get the local area talking about us!

the pub was recently refurbished and now has a great vibe to it. indoors we have around 36 covers but in the garden we have seating for 140 including a cosy covered terrace at the rear which seats around 35

we are happy to offer the successful candidate a significant input into menu planning and all other aspects of the food offer and welcome innovative, outside-the-box thinking so this is a serious opportunity for a great, but undiscovered, chef to demonstrate those talents!

for the chef we feel is the one who can help us make that leap and make his/her own mark we are offering a minimum of £40k per annum and would be open to discussing a bonus scheme based on agreed performance targets. accommodation would also be a possibility but not really suitable for a family!
