this hairdressing and barbering training academy is looking to recruit a creative, enthusiastic, and professional team member to join their team helping young people to develop their skills.

the position is full time based in the centre of birmingham.

hairdresser tutor/assessor

birmingham, b1 1rs

full time, permanent

salary £22,000 – £25,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience

must have driving licence and own vehicle

the client is looking for someone with a passion for the hairdressing industry who will enjoy supporting young people with the delivery of training and developing their skills, knowledge and individual needs.

if you are creative and confident in delivering hairdressing skills to groups of learners and on a one-to-one basis, they want to hear from you.

you must:

be qualified up to hairdressing level 3 or have significant/sufficient experience (circa 10 years)
have strong communication skills with a high level of personal presentation; be friendly, approachable team player who is able to initiate ideas
be able to prioritise, with good organisational skills and the ability to adhere to deadlines and targets
demonstrate a flexible approach, able to inspire and motivate through your training delivered

a driving licence is essential, with access to your own vehicle
barbering skills are desirable but not essential
assessor and iqa awards preferred but not essential (salary will negotiated on these awards

as hairdresser tutor/assessor you will:

demonstrate full competency and a passion to support learners with the delivery and assessment of all hairdressing apprenticeship standards and full time programmes
deliver high quality training to learners
work with learners and employers in raising the standards and the quality of training delivered
work with young people in developing learners’ personal skills and supporting them to develop within their hairdressing career
support the delivery of knowledge through scheduled training workshops
deliver inspiring engaging and interactive workshops in promoting the hairdressing skills required and future job roles
monitor and review learners’ progress and performance to meet their individual needs and aspirations
liaise with employers on a regular basis with visits to the workplace in monitoring the learners’ skills and knowledge
