your day to daythe role:

so, this is what the role is all about. we are looking for a hotel manager to lead our teams to success. reporting directly to our newly appointed general manager micheal martin, the hotel manager is responsible for overseeing the day to day running and the strategic planning of the hotel operation. they will ensure the delivery of exceptional and unique service across all areas to which our experienced travelers have become accustomed to in the most global luxury hotel brand in the world.

the hotel manager will assume operational responsibility and drive the performance of the hotel for our guests and owners. with extensive experience in luxury properties with multiple restaurants and bars, the ideal candidate will be able contribute to maximizing our existing reputation, service excellence, revenue and profitability across all areas.

you will deputize in the absence of the general manager and continually develop the product and the guest service proposition of an intercontinental hotel making our brand promise come to life with an edinburgh flair.

what we need from youwhat we’re looking for:

as part of ihg’s managed and leased estate, intercontinental edinburgh the george are looking for a well-rounded hotel manager, from a rooms division background with minimum 5 years’ experience in senior rooms division positions in luxury four/ five star branded hotel environment. ideally within the ihg managed or franchised portfolio.

our ideal candidate will be charismatic, sophisticated & cosmopolitan just like our guests. they need to demonstrate high levels of guest focus as second nature and display that they have a solid financial, operational and commercial awareness. in addition they will have demonstrated the ability to manage the roll out and successful delivery of projects that drive guest scores, revenue, efficiency or profitability.

we are looking for a self-motivated and forward-thinking individual with a strong guest focus within a large luxury branded, multi-venue environment. you will be a confident communicator with the ability to lead and develop your team and influence across all areas of the business demonstrating in action and words a constant and consistent drive for perfection.

as hotel manager, you will have a hands-on approach and take a proactive role with departmental managers in order to identify and support needs at all levels. you will be an inspirational leader, who is passionate in delivering extraordinary guest experiences and who takes pride in sharing success with your team.
