gbp25,000 per annum pro rata + benefits
6 month contract (temp to perm) brentwood / 100% office based - monday to friday 8.30am - 5pm

the job:
reporting to the finance manager the purchase ledger assistant is an integral member of the finance team
working together to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our clients accounting processes whilst maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the financial data.
day to day responsibilities:
completion of all purchase ledger processes to meet the needs of the business such as maintaining and updating the purchase order summary and creating the end of month purchase ledger journals
process all uk and euro payments on sage 200 and setting up bank payments as needed
manage the expenses processes and credit card reconciliations
import/export process compliance: weekly reconciliation of supplier invoices, monthly reconciliation of pva statement to sage
ensure all bank reconciliations for gbp & euro bank accounts, western union and petty cash are completed by the required deadline
request and reconcile supplier statements on a monthly basis
update aged creditors report on a monthly basis
provide a weekly update to the finance manager
provide holiday cover for sales ledger / credit control assistant
support finance manager with the production of our monthly management accounts
the person:
must have previous finance / accounts experience ideally with a relevant qualification
technically competent working with the purchase ledger and its processes
good working knowledge of vat & paye
good organisational skills and able to prioritise and meet deadlines
methodical with high attention to detail
excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members and suppliers alike
proficient with using ms office applications including excel
team player but also comfortable working on own
positive, driven, self-motivated, resilient, calm, focused and passionate about finance.
the salary: gbp25,000 per annum pro rata
