minimum of 5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the automotive industry)
professional quality certification is preferred (e.g., asq-cqe, asq-cqa, asq-cqm, etc.)
working knowledge of iatf 16949 quality system.
skilled with various quality measuring instruments: micrometer, scale, calipers, height gauges and all other basic inspection tools.
experience in press operation, laser and welding a plus.

what you will do:
ensures the development, launch and maintenance of the quality systems to meet or surpass quality levels of the iatf 16949 standard.
resolves all supplier and customer quality problem reports (open “cars”). developing quality alerts and implementation of any quality sorting from customer site to internal sorting if necessary.
champions corrective action meetings and present closure to management is necessary.
participates in continuous improvement programs and activities to ensure meeting of departmental performance objectives.

manages customer liaisons when concerns arise.
assists manufacturing departments in developing their control plans and work instructions in accordance to their pfmea’s, process flows, quality systems procedures and customer requirements.
participates in cross-functional apqp meetings to review open issues and activities which need to be resolved or acted upon.
reviews and approves supplier ppap’s and trial runs.
