what to expect

this role will be working at the forefront of the product creation team, you will have responsibility for researching market intelligence and defining the certification and compliance for the department. working with the sustainability team, you will define and drive new technologies and legal requirements for the group as well as working closely with the technology areas and suppliers. understanding the vision for technology in order to deliver against legal requirements and the company's visions toward jaguar land rover net carbon aims 2039.

key accountabilities and responsibilities

liaise with regulatory team to maintain awareness of latest industry standards across global markets and will be the internal expert within climate for compliance requirements.

determining impact of new regulations on affected vehicle programs from both a component and vehicle system perspective.

creating & maintaining landscape of legal requirements for climate system certification. to plan, coordinate and control the activities for a climate group to achieve compliance certification, working with internal & external stakeholders.

prepare test reports and maintain all compliance related technical documents

represent the jaguar land rover climate control team in various governing bodies forums & seminars e.g. sae, acesa etc

collect market intelligence based on climate technology readiness, regulatory requirement & market challenges faced and benchmark against other industry leaders to identify future opportunities.

where required support the planning and delivery of new technologies with intelligence inputs

what you need

knowledge, skills and experience

essential:

relevant degree or equivalent experience in engineering.

experience and knowledge in automotive domain

good relevant experience working in a systems engineering environment (automotive sector)

experience in reading and interpreting standards and regulation a must.

experience of working in product research environment.

good at market analysis and data acquisition

analytical and problem-solving skills using tools (e.g. dfmea, 8d)

track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills

good verbal and written communications

ability to quickly understand new and different climate technologies

desirable:

experience in applying systems engineering and in developing complex mechanical electrical and control systems.

experience and awareness in climate control systems

experience or a willingness to be involved with overseas forums and seminars and representing jaguar land rover at governance bodies
