we are looking for an experienced application support analyst to join a reputable and rapidly expanding business based in manchester. this leader in their field is mid way through a large transformation towards azure with a large proportion of their application estate already in azure!
this role will work with the wider it team to support the applications for internal users across the company, working on escalated issues and incidents from the service team. you will take ownership and responsibility across the small but dedicated team, taking on the day to day leadership responsibilities.
key responsibilities:
* provide enterprise application support to the organisations application portfolio (2nd & 3rd line support, final point of escalation).
* act as a subject matter expert for application systems and servers.
* act upon incidents and requests, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manor.
* work with senior management to deliver incident/ problem prevention and testing early in the life cycle.
* work with senior management and stakeholders on the application roadmap moving forwards.
* guide and mentor new team members and existing colleagues, helping to develop their careers and the team.
skills & experience:
* strong background in an application support role, with team leader responsibilities.
* experience acting as an escalation point and guiding a team.
* familiar with the software development cycle.
* good understanding of sql, any other scripting knowledge is desired.
* knowledge around itsm tools.
* experience working in an itil driven environment.
this a varied role where you'll utilise and gain exposure to a variety of tools and applications working to maintain & support off the shelf and bespoke applications.
