summary of this cmm engineer role:

with limited supervision, you will utilise expert knowledge to perform high level inspection, programming, troubleshooting, and analyses on coordinate measuring machines (cmm) in support of overall quality inspection/calibration services. responsibilities:

perform complex troubleshooting and programming on coordinate measuring machines. run coordinate measuring machines for production part approval processes (ppap). perform correlation studies on coordinate measuring machines.inspect complex gauge fixtures, products, piece parts, incoming materials, assemblies, etc. using a coordinate measuring machine (cmm) or other inspection tools such as micrometres, callipers, height gauges, and/or indicatorsprovide technical support for complex cmm troubleshooting or programming needsdevelop, document, and present metrics around cmm programminglead the interaction with oems for calibration, certification, and maintenance activities related to the cmms. physical demands and working conditions:

while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces, and talk or hear as well as being occasionally required to sit.

as a cmm engineer you will be required to occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. you will also regularly use close vision and colour vision and be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.

work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. in the factory environment, you may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.

essential skillsqualifications:

degree (hnc) from two-year college or technical school and at least five years' previous experience programming and troubleshooting coordinate measuring machines or equivalent combination of education and experience.proven ability to program and troubleshoot coordinate measuring machines (cmm)demonstrated ability to recreate cmm measurements using inspection layoutin-depth knowledge of geometric dimension & tolerancing (gd&t) conceptsintermediate computer skills - including proficiency of basic operating systems and previous experience with computerised quality documentation systemsstrong interpersonal, communication, and mentoring skillsabout companyfounded in 1985, we are a company with a presence in the united states, mexico, and the united kingdom. we are professionals in industrial maintenance, and we make factories run better.
