Grants administrator - united kingdom, leatherhead, surrey

we have a unique opportunity for a grants administrator to join the team behind the wates family charities secretariat, which manages the day-to-day running of two well-established and well-regarded grant-making charities; the wates family enterprise trust (wfet) and the wates foundation (wf). collectively the two charities distribute around gbp2 million in grants annually and are both independent of the wates group.

the grants administrator will be an integral part of a small team to provide a comprehensive administrative support service to the director, grants officer, trustees and members of the wates families. the role will be responsible for at least one area of grant giving within the portfolio with an expectation this will increase over time.

we are looking for you to already be working or volunteering in the third sector, and be familiar with the requirements of grants administration, including a good awareness of charity finance, and have a good attention to detail.

alongside this, empathy and excellent spoken and written communication skills are key to ensuring that we can support applications through to their conclusion to the satisfaction of all parties.

we would like you have significant experience of crm systems, ideally salesforce.

this flexible opportunity is based out of our well-equipped head office in leatherhead, is 22.5 hours per week, and will be worked over three days for up to 18 months. there will be occasional travel for meetings with charities and family members.
