our client, based in the north west of england, manufactures, installs and support a range of high accuracy level gauging systems and equipment to the petrochemical industry.

the systems include instrumentation, electrical and electronic systems with a front end in-house developed software package.

they are now looking for a project engineer to join their talented team.

about the role:

the position will involve project engineering of internal product and systems development and external contracts. our client's systems and products are suitable for use in hazardous ex areas, so the candidate would ideally have experience of ex hazardous area protection methods and principles. however, training will be provided for the right candidate if required.

project documentation, drawings, systems testing, factory acceptance testing will be a significant part of the role, so the applicant needs to be capable of delivering well written and presented documents, manuals, procedures and drawings.

knowledge of windows and linux operating systems would be an advantage.

the role is a customer facing and will involve direct contact with customers, suppliers and subcontractors.

required skills and experience:

the ideal candidate will:

have experience in project engineering.
have a proven record of working to deadlines.
work well as a team member and be comfortable and proficient when interacting with team members and clients.
have an engineering background, preferably electrical, instrumentation or electronics.
be proficient with project engineering tools including ms project, autocad and ms office applications.
