our client, based in the north west of england, manufactures, installs and support a range of high accuracy level gauging systems and equipment to the petrochemical industry.

the systems include instrumentation, electrical and electronic systems with a front end in-house developed software package.

they are now looking for a software developer to join their talented team.

about the role:

the software developer will maintain the company’s existing software product and develop additional functionality and features to this system and future products. there will also be an element of bug fixing and support response as required in conjunction with the service and commissioning team.

ideal skill set:

python
database/mysql
html
javascript. (within javascript, knowledge of the jquery library would be useful).
css
networking
windows/linux
serial comms
modbus protocol
basic repository knowledge would be useful. our client use bitbucket.
other smaller script types like inno setup, batch and shell could be desirable.
knowledge of raspberry pi preferred.
