an exciting opportunity has arisen for a structural designer to join a successful speciality plant based in lowestoft. a team player with initiative, design flair and who thrives in a fast moving environment would fit the team very well.

our client is a sheet plant producing corrugated packaging, they support a multitude of business sectors including, craft breweries, automotive, medical, green energy and electronic to name a few.

using the latest industry specific cad & artwork software, our client designs and develops packaging solutions lead from client briefs to deliver a cost effective sustainable package.

responsibilities:

independently create & develop corrugated packaging solutions meeting the needs of the clients brief and produce samples for approval.produce cad drawings from previously manufactured samples.generate documentation for estimating, sales & operations.identify changes to existing packaging to aid packing & or production efficiencies.take direct ownership of tasks by liaising with clients & colleagues to gain information and keep them informed of progress.ensure systems & databases are kept up to date.generate tracings for use in manufacturing.produce cad drawings for the use in setting of artwork.liaising with clients regarding artwork requirements (not generating artwork / graphics) & processing proofs through to approval via our third party studios.any other reasonable requests.

to be considered for the role you will ideally need to have structural design experience ideally in the packaging sector.

computer literate with knowledge of cad software, illustrator & microsoft office applications.self-motivated with an eye for problem solving and attention to detail.the ability to follow a design brief and adapt as necessary.able to thrive in a fast paced fluid environment & work to deadlines.great communication skills.quick to learn and develop & keen to understand our manufacturing processes.able to build a rapport with key personnel, customers and shop floor personnel.
