about the team

our learning and development manager will play a key part in delivering our overall talent and resourcing strategy, leading a team of five who currently do an amazing job in this centre of excellence for the group.

about the role

responsibilities include:

leading a highly effective and efficient learning and development operation, from groupwide training needs analysis through to high volumes of training provision across a wide variety of development activity. collaborating with internal and external subject matter experts to design and develop programmes to build the knowledge, skills and behaviours aligned to our business success. ensuring our learning and development projects are aligned with our strategic objectives, and our internal talent has the capability needed for the future. building a flexible learning culture through the promotion of digital learning and virtual training across wates. developing the wates induction process, including the ongoing review and design of innovative solutions. managing the learning and development budget to maximise value. providing regular and accurate reporting on learning and development activity to key stakeholders.

about you

you are ....

a learning and development professional with excellent knowledge of current organisational learning strategies. an organiser with excellent planning skills, comfortable managing multiple activites and deadlines. passionate about designing and developing learning. an inspiring leader who enjoys motivating your team. a great communicator and influencer with an ability to develop successful relationships at all levels. highly motivated, tenacious, innovative and enjoy working in a fast paced, high volume environment. a collaborator who enjoys teamwork, but also working independently. a logical thinker with a solution driven approach. experienced in data management, analysis, and reporting, confident in the use of microsoft office, and new technologies.
