the starting salary for this position is gbp46,634 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

we currently have a permanent, full time (36 hours per week) vacancy for a business support manager.

this is an exciting and challenging time to join us, as we strive to enable residents to self-serve using online tools, with the addition of supportive technology such as chatbots, live chat and robotics. with the upcoming social care charging reforms, we are looking to work in a very different way, and this is an opportunity for an ambitious and innovative manager to help us on this journey.

you will lead a small team of specialist roles responsible for charging reform financial assessments, welfare benefits advice and the operation of care cap accounts. working with the lead manager, alongside a new central charging reform team, you will play a crucial role in the implementation of a digital first approach and the designing of new processes and procedures. the new financial assessment team will be structured to two areas: one responsible for non-residential and one for residential/nursing assessments. you will major on debt prevention strategies, being a core feature of the new financial assessment process and will be supported by a financial assessment technician.

much of your work can be achieved remotely, but you will need to attend offices and workshops across the county of surrey, particularly in the infancy of this new team. your direct reports will be agile too, co-located with the central team, and your location preference can be discussed at interview.

as a business support manager you will:

plan and review the objectives of the charging reform financial assessment team have lead responsibility for analysing and reporting on the team s performance give broad advice on care act charging legislation and the impact of charging reforms establish efficient practices that support a channel shift to self-service, with an evident interest in what opportunities digital can offer mantra debt prevention in all decision making relating to the raising of social care charges be self-aware, understand the impact of actions on others, respond constructively to challenges and will find solutions at surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. they shape who we are as an organisation. find out more about the values we follow.
