due to business growth, a new role has been created for a pension advisor to join our team here in macclesfield.

the role reports into the hr systems & pensions manager who will support you as the lead on all pension activity, ensuring that robust processes are put in place to control & manage associated risk, whilst meeting all legal obligations. you will act as the key liaison between hr, payroll, legal, sales and finance on all pension matters.

job description

your key responsibilities as the pensions adviser will consist of:

- support the sales process with a review of all pension provisions and provide appropriate wording in support of sales tenders

- work with local authorities, in the setup and establishment of all pension directions, admission agreements and guarantees (where required)

- manage the process of year end returns and associated information

- maintain a robust filing system of all pension agreements by contract and all associated correspondence

- maintain a central log of all admission agreements, pension contribution percentages, contractual provisions and associated risks

- act as the key liaison between hr, payroll, legal, sales and finance on all pension matters

working alongside the hr systems & pension manager who will support;

- to ensure governance of all pension schemes

- hold one formal pension governance committee meeting each year with advisors and key stakeholders

- manage the relationship with pension intermediary - isio

- provide appropriate training on pensions and pension risks to the wider business as required

- produce biannual pension newsletters

working pattern: monday to friday - 37.5 hours per week

skills and experience

the experience and knowledge we are looking for from our future pensions adviser include:

- background in pensions or payroll

- previous experience of pensions with a particular focus on public sector is desirable

- highly organised and able to work with complex and detailed information

- excellent communicator with ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels

- excellent excel skills

- a team player with a flexible approach to work and job variety

- warm, friendly and genuine
