sittingbourne is the second largest of our operations where we also pack fresh fruit and vegetables.
our pack house is in operation 24 hours per day, employing over 500 colleagues. we offer a broad range of roles based at site from quality assurance to site planners, warehouse operatives to shift operations managers. we also have a small number of support roles to facilitate the day to day running of the operation.
about the role
we have an exciting opportunity for despatch clerk - days who will be responsible for booking and monitoring of transport, including creating proper and detailed documentation including updating company systems.
please note this role is working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern - 7am to 7pm
your key responsibilities will include:
undertake all aspects of administration in relation to the booking and monitoring of transport.
ensure and process all "goods in" procedures as required ensuring the timely and accurate receipt of stock into the system and notification of any discrepancies to the b.u.s.
working alongside operations leaders/team leaders to ensure that all transport requirements are organised, documented and communicated to all relevant internal and external customers.
establish and maintain excellent clear communication between internal and external customers at all times.
ensure regular operational status reports are communicated as necessary to all relevant parties.
working with operations leaders/step up operations leaders/team leaders organising allocation of orders to fit work profile and priority order.
ensure all paperwork is completed in line with brc standards and achieved as per policy.
working with operations leaders/team leaders ensuring vehicle departs to schedule, maintaining required service levels.
organising allocation of orders to fit work profile and priority order.
spread sheets to be updated and communicated to relevant parties (bus stop time, vtt, goods in issues, kpis etc.).
report and investigate variances.
please note that the shift for this role is working a 4 on 4 off rota - 7am to 7pm - days.
the salary offered for this role is up to gbp21,582.53
skills and experience required:
it literate (intermediate level)
experience in a fast moving business environment or despatch office
reliable and flexible
attention to detail - numerically and logically
computer literate with intermediate excel knowledge as well as word and windows
experience of and ability to work within a multi-functional fmcg environment - desirable
educated to gcse standard including english and maths - desirable
experience in working in a packhouse/warehouse or stock control - desirable
preferably experience of working in the fresh produce industry or within the food industry - desirable
calm and approachable person - desirable
be a self-motivated person - desirable
excellent organisation skills - desirable
excellent communication skills - desirable
