Private aviation operations manager - united kingdom, bicester, oxfordshire

absolute taste inflight is considered one of worlds leading private aviation catering specialists. established over fifteen years ago and with the recent growth of absolute taste as a whole, the private aviation division is continuing to go from strength to strength.

we are now looking for an experienced operations and logistics manager with a passion for food and excellent leadership skills to help take our bespoke business into the next era.

key role responsibilities:

take the lead role in the day to day running of the inflight operation, ensuring all catering orders are processed, packed and delivered correctly, on time and to the highest standard.

to grow and develop the infight team, being the main point of contact for all team members, handling any day to day team queries, hr policy management, rota planning and general management responsibilities.

generate sales from existing and new clients. maintaining customer relationships and ensuring expectations are met or exceeded at all times. confident communicating with clients and customers if things have not gone to plan, but also building relationships to generate customer loyalty.

where necessary be involved in the daily operation, quality control duties and delivery of catering orders to airports, leading by example.

to be flexible with your hours to suit the needs of the business.

summary of key areas:

operations -

ensure the working environment is organised, and to expected standards. promoting high standards in working appearance at all times.

direct and support the operations assistants, quality control team and driver team.

work with the head of travel to maintain supplier relationships and source new suppliers where necessary

ensure feedback is requested, reported and acted on, overseeing the completion of the feedback database.

constantly reviewing the sop manual for the inflight operation. ensuring that all procedures are regularly reviewed and updated where necessary, maintaining an efficient and productive work force

supporting and leading the training and development of the team

be conversant and practice good basic health and safety, and food hygiene responsibilities.

logistics and facilities -

to take the lead role in ensuring that all functions are in place for the teams to be able to effectively carry out the smooth running of the operation.

to be the key point of contact with the transport, facilities, logistics and compliance departments. to be responsible for the food safety and health and safety legislation for the department.

to take overall responsibility for ordering and stock take.

caa recruitment and referencing -

ensure that all new members of the operations, qc and driver team have completed all necessary administration and referencing before employment commences.

ensure that all members of the operations, qc and driver team have a photo id card and this is renewed when necessary

ensure that all members of the operations, qc and driver teams have completed the necessary security training and this is renewed when necessary.

to be responsible for the caa documentation ensuring it is reviewed and updated accordingly and to be the primary contact for the caa.

training and development -

oversee the training plan and schedule for all new starters in the operations, qc and driver team. undertake management/ staff appraisals

have the ability to demonstrate a commitment to the development and motivation of the team and actively encourage training and learning to develop individuals in the team.

financial -

assist the head of travel in the compilation of the monthly forecast. to be able to complete and present finance reviews in the absence of the head of travel

assist the head of travel in end of month procedures including the completion of the purchase log and procure wizard.
