job description

there is an opportunity to work with the compliance and risk teams in the uk and with the group compliance team in france to develop and broaden the current compliance systems and policies. this will entail working with the legal and compliance director and relevant uk teams, and with the risk and compliance group level teams collaboratively.

the key focus of this role is work closely with our leadership team, legal, finance, risk and other relevant departments to ensure that best practice in terms of policy, process and governance is firmly established within all areas of the uk business. to ensure that knowledge and best practice are developed, shared and engrained within the fabric of our business and to ensure that elior uk and group operations are de-risked.

as our risk & compliance manager, you will be responsible for implementing, managing and controlling appropriate initiatives, policies and procedures to ensure elior uk and group's compliance and governance in key areas of risk and compliance you will be supported by the legal and compliance director, the legal and the group compliance teams. you will ensure that elior uk operates in a legal and ethical manner whilst ensuring business/commercial goals and objectives are met.

key responsibilities of the role include, data protection, business continuity risk and planning, bribery & corruption, pci, dss, corporate criminal offenses, modern slavery, money laundering, and risk mapping exercise for elior group.

as our compliance manager, you will:

- develop, improve & implement an effective legal compliance program/framework, tools and raise awareness covering all areas of business regulatory, compliance and governance risk including re third party onboarding/due diligence checks (including third party onboarding/due diligence checks)

- create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them, presenting key areas of risk appropriately and propose corrective and preventative controls

- educate and train colleagues on regulatory compliance and best practice in conjunction with hr and the communications and learning/dev teams

- create plans to manage compliance issues and to escalate areas of concern

- be point of contact on compliance for senior management

working pattern: monday to friday, 37.5 hours per week

skills and experience

to succeed within the role, you will be a reliable professional who is not afraid to challenge. proven experience of risk & compliance is essential, with familiarity of industry practices and professional standards. training experience would be beneficial.

you will have excellent communication skills, integrity and business acumen. you will be a strong influencer who can work and set your own plans, with limited direction.

experience of working at group/head office level would be preferential.
