an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist to join a well-established company based in poole.

the company:

due to ongoing expansion, they are seeking skilled machinists to work in their machining centre of excellence.

based in poole, dorset they are an iso9001 accredited, leading international supplier of high performance equipment for the global energy sector.

working across a range of modern machinery you will produce a wide variation of small batch work from: prototyping small parts, to deep hole drilling, and large diameter precision machining.

the company have multiple vacancies to work on a rotational shift basis

about the role:

responsible for producing high precision, small batch components for global energy industry. responsible for programming, setting and operating xyz/mazak cnc machines. using trial runs and graphic simulations on modern cnc machines to ensure correct components produced. self-inspection of components along with first article inspections. storage of programs / setting instructions. saw and issue materials, as per manufacturing instructions. responsible for providing support and training to trainees, apprentices and less experienced machinists, as required. responsible for working safely at all times and with consideration of the safety of others. adhere to all dti policies and procedures. to carry out other duties as required.

candidate requirements:

good verbal and written communication skills. minimum of 3 years’ cnc machinist experience. minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a machine shop environment. must be able to work on own initiative. must be reliable and prepared to work overtime, often at short notice. working experience of manufacturing systems and processes. excellent coordination and organizational skills. able and willing to push through constraints in an engaging and collaborative manner.
