Process engineer - united states, nashville

adecco has partnered with an exciting new client to recruit and hire a process engineer for one their nashville area locations. (lebanon facility).

the process engineer is responsible for the development and execution of the overall production strategy for their assigned department.  they will provide leadership and direction to the assigned department while supporting production, efficiency, first pass yield, cost reduction, and safety improvements. 

responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • leading improvement projects that target key plant metrics including safety, quality, on-time delivery, and efficiency. 

  • evaluating processes and providing new techniques, and/or mechanical designs to improve overall production and quality of products.

  • developing strategies for cost reductions, improvements, and stabilizations.

  • collaborating with the maintenance team to troubleshoot issues, equipment installations and set-ups. 

  • identifying, diagnosing, and resolving root causes to issues as they arise 

  • utilizing lean tools such as visual shop management, problem solving flow charts, process observations (time-study), and other lean/statistical tools. 

  • developing new techniques, processes, and leading implementation of new technologies. 

  • qualifications

  • bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.

  • 3+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment with focus on process improvement, project management, and quality analysis.

  • proficient with smartsheets, solidworks, autocad, microsoft office, and blueprint reading

  • proven experience in managing cross-functional teams through implementation of process improvement projects. 

  • strong understanding and utilization of lean methodologies (green belt certification preferred).

  • demonstrated ability to coach, teach, and mentor technical and non-technical knowledge to hourly employees to drive business results. 

  • knowledge of sap is preferred.

  • previous experience in automotive, metal, or stamping manufacturing environment preferred.

  • excellent written and oral communication skills.
