packaging & warehouse manager - dunbar brewery

having celebrated its 300th birthday, the belhaven brewery is home to many well-loved beers such as belhaven best, twisted thistle and belhaven black. as part of the senior management team, you will be responsible for all the sites packaging lines and warehouse operation. you will be responsible for creating a strong team that will deliver a world class fmcg operation by developing and delivering an end to end packaging and warehouse strategy across the site.

key responsibilities

a member of the site leadership team delivering business results whilst promoting a professional team culture across belhaven brewery

develop and lead the deployment of the packaging maintenance and asset care strategy that improves machine and process performance and ensures full legal compliance of statutory requirements across the department.

responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a culture of safety first, focused on safe behaviour, adherence to safety standards and aligned with the wider greene king safety framework, is applied to all maintenance and contractor activities.

fully embed the company vision, values and behaviours into the site packaging and warehouse team.

develop and work with the engineering department to continuously improve the ppm and asset care programmes to deliver the optimum balance of process performance and cost.

utilising a toolbox of continuous improvement methodologies, multiple data streams and industry best practice, identifyroot cause of plant failure and poor performance and implement the actions required actions to address these.

inspire the team on a day to day basis by engaging them in continuously growing their individual skills, competencies and knowledge, through their daily actions and by owning their individual personal development and off -line training plans.

support projects that limit process impact on the environment and promote the reduction in the overall consumption of utilities while delivering the service levels required to meet plant and process objectives.

able to identify and implement industry best practice methods and use them to drive a culture changing approach to packaging and warehousing.

support a cross functional approach to improving and maintaining standards for internal and external audits.

keep and maintain the highest hygiene standard and embed the culture of continuous improvement.

about you...

proven experience of managing packaging lines and a basic knowledge of warehousing principles.

be able to work closely together with all other departments to achieve quality products within budget in a timely manner.

experience of continuous improvement and change management would advantageous.
