Assistant warehouse manager - united kingdom, bedford, bedfordshire

conservation by design limited is a royal warrant holding company specialising in the manufacturer of storage products for museums, archives and libraries. we are currently recruiting for an assistant warehouse and despatch manager. we are an international company with a wholly owned subsidiary in paris, which services the french and european market in particular. the uk parent company currently operates from two sites. the warehouse and despatch are based in wilden, just north of bedford.

the successful applicant will hold a full uk driving license and be expected to operate a forklift truck. they should have a reasonable level of computer literacy in order to operate the company's stock management system. training on all equipment and software will be given to the successful applicant.

we are successfully expanding our production capacity and are consequently looking for a person who is reliable, can work as part of a team, enforce health and safety rules, maintain quality standards and is willing to do whatever it takes to get the work done on time with a focus on putting the customers first. the successful candidate should be ambitious to grow with the company.

assist the warehouse manager with ensuring that the compliance of safety standards are being maintained and adhered to consistently and accurately
to provide assistance to the relevant sales team

keep the warehouse neat and well organized.
conduct employee observations to ensure safety guidelines are being met consistently.
motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.
maintaining daily workflow for delivery of the orders.
liaises with manager to ensure coordination of warehouse activities.
liaise with the sales team to understand priorities.
coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods
booking stock in and out on our navision system (full training given)
liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies
help to coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods
use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met
help to maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment.
to provide a continuous support service at all times, on behalf of the company
to ensure that ordered goods are picked and dispatched on a daily basis and accurately
to provide efficient and accurate dispatch of goods to customer base
to provide cover elsewhere in the company where appropriate
to recognise and accept responsibility for all individual tasks undertaken
to ensure that ordered goods are picked and dispatched accurately on a daily basis
to assist in the function of replenishment in the correct areas and accurate stock control
to ensure that dispatch deadlines and targets are met on a daily basis to ensure good customer service
to assist with co-ordination of cover and ensure a continuous workload within the section
to ensure that the section is kept tidy and hazard free at all times
to carry out any other duties as reasonably requested
