Press & pr manager - united kingdom, tilbury, essex
we are currently hiring a press and pr manager for our client, a manufacturer of zero-emission trucks with a revolutionary combination of battery electric and hydrogen fuel-cell range extender technology. the successful candidate will lead & propose the communications strategy (product, lifestyle, corporate) and 360-campaigns that support brand & commercial objectives.
the press and pr manager will:
direct the team to develop brand-enhancing stories for earned media (kpis inc. sov) that deliver on shared, owned, (+ paid) channels
be proactively involved with 'purpose' & csr messaging and lead this in external comms - predominantly earned but also input into shared, owned, paid
work with head of events ensuring appropriate brand representation in experiential programmes
lead and propose crisis communications - manage the response and comms across the organisation
work with group marketing director to ensure that key spokespeople are media trained and prepared for crisis communications
proactively show how pr is supporting business at meetings (e.g., md, committees) & reactively support emerging business needs as appropriate
propose and lead pr input into business activity cycle - company aware of comms activity & contribution to brand/business objectives.
ensure collaboration with investor relations team and external financial pr agency to ensure corporate messaging and equity story messaging are consistent, aligned and amplified.
the press and pr manager will have:
degree level, plus professional qualification in marketing
experience in the motor industry or truck pr
experience managing people (directly or indirectly)
proven ability to juggle multiple workstreams whilst maintaining attention to detail
experience in pr and traditional marketing
experience with supplier selection, brief- writing and agreeing scopes of work and ensuring delivery against plan
