what to expect

this role will work with the supply base to improve all aspects of local and global supply chain. develop and lead the delivery of the emergency actions within the supply chain. working closely with sta, rfu, purchasing to lead suppliers in distress intervention and recovery support. working with suppliers in the jlr supplier performance management and escalation process (qos088) to develop and deliver action plans that allow them to exit the process. coordination with r&fu to identify and support suppliers to achieve schedule identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiency within the supply chain. leading a reactive, flexible team responding to supply chain crisis

key accountabilities and responsibilities:

as a supplier assurance manager you will manage the team to deliver performance improvements to supply chain using lean tools and techniques as part of an integrated approach for supply chain improvement activites. you will work to continuously improve jlr's supply chain to deliver efficiency and cost optimisation across all freight and contract logistics operations.

you will manage the escalation and de-escalation of suppliers through qos088 on behalf of supply chain, liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and the supplier base to ensure the team deliver objectives and provide technical expertise and guidance to the team on the appropriate cause of action in resolving complex logistics problems. you will manage, monitor and track resolution to all logistics problems and issue to ensure improvements are achieved and provide crisis management support for chronic supplier issues including supply assurance and recovery management plans

what you'll need

you will need leadership experience in multiple logistics disciplines (supply chain management, launch, operations management, vehicle scheduling / production control, logistics engineering). you must be highly skilled in crisis management with an ability to work under pressure and have high personal resilience. you will have a flexible approach to achieve business goals and an understanding of wider business issues.

you will also need strong problem-solving skills, with experience of industry standard tools and techniques, excellent communication and presentation skills and these should be combined with a confident attitude as well as strong influencing skills with an ability to lead senior representatives in supplier environment

knowledge, skills and experience:

flexibility and commitment as travel may be extensive in the uk and overseas

high levels of personal organisation and motivation are essential

can demonstrate strong numerical and analytical skills

ability to work in a disciplined and controlled manner

change management skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
