health & safety officer - requirements

previous experience in a health & safety role

environmental experience specifically legionella monitoring and risk assessments

nebosh general certificate is essential

experience of using sap systems is desirable

proficient at using microsoft excel, word and outlook is essential

experience of preparing risk assessments is essential

experience of working in a manufacturing environment is essential

ability to work within a team to solve problems and issues

health & safety officer - responsibilities

assess the compliance and efficacy of the adopted fire prevention and protection measures in accordance with the health & safety proxy holder

carry out investigation of accidents and incidents in line with group procedure, to ascertain their cause and promptly implement the related corrective measures

draft and implement the safety procedures in the workplace in accordance with the health & safety proxy holder

participate in safety meetings with workers and their representatives

participate in consultations on matters of work health & safety

advise and train employees and contractors on how to minimise and/or avoid risks and hazards in the workplace

assess the compliance of machinery, plants and facilities with law requirements and suggest measures to carry out in order to improve their safety standards, also taking into account
