Electrical controls engineer - united states, nashville
the controls engineer will support the design, implementation, and execution of automation infrastructure. they will assist other engineering teams/members with electrical designs and installation of hmi interfaces and required plc programming for plastic extrusion equipment and support systems. this position will support the electrical controls engineer, as well as the engineering and maintenance department with power systems, motor controls, safe guards and automation needs.
responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
assisting in developing and troubleshooting software for plcs and hmis.
use of cad to develop electrical / control schematics
assisting with the design and installation of new automation control systems for the manufacturing process
providing documentation of operation details (example: alarm details specific to operator actions)
working as part of an integrated design team to meet project requirements and deliverables.
developing process control specification documents (pcsds).
qualifications:
bachelor degree in engineering preferred, specifically electrical or mechanical.
past experience in automation a plus
any obtained enhance the advancement possibilities within this organization.
knowledge in cad based programs (2d & 3d)
preferred some knowledge in plc programming (allen bradley, rslogix)
preferred some knowledge of computer programming (html, java)
