we are proud to be working in partnership with denstone college where we are looking to recruit a full time chef to join an established and exciting team.

salary negotiable depending on experience

40 hours per week

hours will work on a rota basis 7 days a week (core hours being in the week but some weekend working)

no split shifts

1 day max at the weekend

christmas off

busy pace in term time for 39 weeks if the year, the rest of the year is a much more pedestrain pace

free onsite parking, gym, swimming pool and lunch

job purpose:

job purpose outline: to perform a mixture of roles in the provision of a high standard of culinary produce within the catering department.

outline of duties:

* the chef is responsible to the site services manager, through the assistant catering manager or front of house manager or through the chef supervisor, for:

* ensuring a consistently high standard of culinary produce - including preparation, cooking and presentation - consistent with practical economy.

* maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures.

* maintaining the highest standards of hygiene in the preparation and cooking of food.

* maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen equipment and the kitchen areas.

* in the absence of the chef supervisor, supervise the catering assistants.

* assisting in serving all meals for college staff and pupils and for other functions held within the college.

* conserving energy by extinguishing powered cooking equipment, hot plates and lights when not required.

* carrying out such other duties as may reasonably be required by the site services manager.

* in the absence of management staff, supervising the allocation of staff to jobs.

* pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
