super 8 restaurants group is looking to recruit a butcher to our team. we are an independent, thriving restaurant group, with four london-based sites; smoking goat, kiln, brat and brat x climpson’s arch. based centrally in a great workspace, this new role will work closely with each restaurant and the head chefs, utilising whole carcass butchery to produce dish-inspired cuts.
this role will entail working with some of the best and sustainably raised meats from the uk, produced by expert growers and farmers. super 8 works alongside these producers, has a direct and open line of communication with them, following seasonality and respecting sustainability wherever possible. as a company, we are excited about the excellent people and produce that we work with, and wish to hire individuals who share this view, and have no desire to compromise on quality. we value staff development, and this role offers the opportunity to progress to lead butcher or junior chef roles in 1 – 2 years.
based in shoreditch, london, we offer a competitive hourly rate and on-the-job training. the butchery team starts at 7am and is usually finished by 4pm. butchers work about 40 hours a week, we pay nmw plus service charge which is roughly £4/5 per hour. the role is advertised full time, but part time would be considered. to apply for this position, we ask that you have basic knife skills, a fantastic attitude and a desire to learn about the highly skilled world of butchery. please apply with a cv and brief cover letter via this advert.
