adecco is recruiting for an exciting new opportunity, working for a kansas company with headquarters in topeka. our client is a leading provider of commercial and residential waste removal services offshore.
this position is looking for a talented accounting manager who will modernize and streamline the accounting functions, while working with a great accounting staff, and overseeing all accounting activities.
the ideal candidate must have experience in effectively upgrading to a completely automated financial management system.
general duties and responsibilities
manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department:
process monthly and year end year reports
accounts payable/receivable
cash receipts
general ledger
payroll - bi-weekly
payroll and benefits administration
budgeting
cash forecasting
revenue and expenditure variance analysis
capital assets reconciliations
trust account statement reconciliations
check runs
fixed asset activity
debit activity
monitor and analyze accounting data
produce financial reports and statements
establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
coordinate and complete annual audits
assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
knowledge, skills, and abilities
strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (gaap).
ability to develop and establish financial policies and procedures.
knowledge of operating and capital budget concepts.
must be deadline driven and perform functions of the position on time.
qualifications
bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting.
experience working with quickbooks pro
at least two years of experience in the area of financial statement preparation, budgeting, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, or the equivalent.
experience working with an automated financial management system.
salary and benefits
salary range of $84k - depending on experience
comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, vacation and holidays
will travel twice a year, out of country to visit the offshore office, meeting with the 35-40 employees: establishing good relationships and understanding of the culture of the offshore operations.
