maintain and focus on the quality, cost, delivery and production of each area to which you are assigned. ensure that the production areas are supplied with raw materials when required in the right quantity and that the finished goods are transported to the finished goods area, ready for dispatch. responsible for manual mig welding of production parts and/or tig repair of rework parts while maintaining required quality and production standards.
the main missions of the role are:
produce parts by loading and positioning component(s) into fixture(s) using methods/equipment defined in standardized work instructions
perform detailed dimensional inspection using final gauge, bend gauge, hand held gauges, and other instruments when necessary to determine quality of product
inspect parts and welds visually for visible defects or as specified by standardized work instructions
move materials, supplies, and/or finished goods to designated places in the facility
record and dispose defective product in designated manner
pack parts into designated container and record information in line with packing instructions
check all safety controls for proper operation at start of each shift
notify gap leader and/or supervisor when defects exceed acceptable limits or when major equipment malfunctions occur
maintain clean and safe working environment in line with company policy
perform temporary preventative maintenance (tpm) on equipment
adheres to all work rules and procedures
additional responsibilities include:
performing necessary change overs per production schedule
maintain appearance of equipment and lines by conducting 5s
clean/paint equipment, clean/seal floors, paint lines around equipment when line is down or when assigned
implement two (2) improvement ideas per month
other duties as requested

qualifications
the ideal candidate will have/be:
must be 18 years of age
must have received high school diploma or equivalent (g.e.d.)
satisfactory company work records, including attendance and disciplinary record
weld trained and certified to operate welding and exhaust fabricating equipment
successful completion of in-house training program and weld certification tests
able to communicate effectively and accurately with all levels of management and co-workers in spoken and written language.

demonstrate the ability to perform to the production standards defined in the standardized work instructions
strong ability to organize while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability
