head chef tapas bar, new opening
we are looking for a reliable head chef for a new tapas bar opening in petts wood. menus will include traditional spanish tapas and hand carved hams with as much as possible prepared in-house. the vibe is more kitchen and bar than restaurant with customers encouraged to drop in for drinks and snacks rather than a 3-course meal. there will be a full takeaway service with plans to offer a delivery service at a later date.
the brand-new kitchen is compact but well equipped and is open theatre in full view of the customers. there is a separate prep kitchen too.
daily duties will include:
all food production, stock management & wastage
menu development, daily specials & quality assurance
compliance with all statutory regulations and legislation
food safety & hygiene
the kitchen budget and gp
we are looking for an enthusiastic hands-on chef with previous experience of spanish tapas, capable of running the kitchen alone, with help at busy times. someone friendly and approachable who wants to commit several years to this brand-new business.
this position might suit a capable sous chef ready to step up to a 1st head chef role.
up to 50 hours a week over 5 days
salary: £40,000 + service charge
