position overview:

my client is seeking to add a hardworking supply chain analyst. this position will report to the supply chain lead.  perform analysis activities in the areas of planning, production scheduling, inventory control, logistics and customer service in support of company objectives and the focus five initiatives. 

responsibilities:

  • maintain a safe working environment by complying with standards and policies, all state and federal regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • evaluate the effectiveness of production planning & scheduling activities. develop tools to improve effectiveness and alignment with company initiatives.
  • apply lean manufacturing techniques.
  • communicate planning targets to the plant including operations, maintenance, finance, shop floor operations, and management as needed.
  • participate in the s&op process.  produces dashboard reports and other statistical reporting.  support the new item setup and specifications process.
  • analyze inventory control activities including cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory.
  • performs production & logistics planning & scheduling activities as needed to support 24 x 7 manufacturing environment.
  • facilitate continuous improvement teams and drive initiatives within the supply chain department.
  • performs timely customer communication for both internal and external customers.
  • work within the parameters created by the iso9001:2015 quality system.
  • perform all other duties and projects as assigned and required by the regional supply chain manager.
  • minimum qualifications:

  • associates degree in supply chain management, management information systems, business, finance, industrial engineering, or related field.  minimum three years' experience with controls.
  • knowledge of production planning and control in a manufacturing environment.
  • an understanding of business and management principles, leadership strategies and strategic planning.
  • familiarity with the principles of supply chain management. 1-3 years documented business experience as a supply chain professional.  related manufacturing and logistics experience a plus.  knowledge of business systems.
  • strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.  computer proficient; i.e., pivot tables, access, data conversion with ability to present functional specifications to the it department.   ability to work independently with minimal direction.    
  • ability to learn new software packages quickly and apply knowledge to daily tasks and projects.  ability to demonstrate effective team leadership and team membership skills. 
  • possess a strong customer orientation.
  • must possess strong decision making and problem solving skills including the ability to solve problems while exhibiting practical judgment and realistic understanding of the issues involved. must be able to overcome obstacles and find reasonable resolutions to situations on a case by case basis as encountered.  must have the ability and confidence to make decisions relating to role’s accountabilities.  must exercise discretion when determining if direction from manager is needed.
  • ability to use logic, math and database tools to support initiatives.
  • ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. must be able to recognize data needed in order to make decisions, collect data, and analyze in order to determine direction in which to proceed. if issue is beyond authority level or scope of work, must recommend plan of action to manager in order to proceed.
  • ability to achieve timely results, manage multiple tasks and objectives and to manage change.
  • willing to provide constructive feedback, provide information clearly and generate solutions.
