• we are looking to employ a personal assistant/carer for four mornings per week
• the position entails caring for a bright and intelligent wheelchair bound individual (63 years old), who enjoys card making, baking and visits to the shops/garden centre.
• the role will involve caring for the individual to cater for her needs – promoting the individual’s health and well-being and enabling her to carry out the activities she enjoys.
• this is a private position in our family home.

typical duties
domestic:
general housework related to individual’s needs.
preparing snacks and drinks;

personal care:
manual handling/transfers using equipment where required
catheter care (emptying leg bag)
occasional getting me into/out of bed using a hoist
assistance with medication
exercises as recommended by physiotherapist
any other reasonable task
social:
assisting with activities such as baking and card-making;
assisting with outings/visits to the shops, medical appointments etc.

punctual, honest, reliable, positive and possess a good sense of humour.
experience of being a carer is not a necessity, but applicants need to be adaptable and willing to learn.
