Medical collections representative (telecommute role) - united states, concordia research station

a medical collections representative telecommute role in concord, ca is now available through adecco medical and science. you will be required to work a minimum of 1-day onsite in concord so you must be local to the area.  this position will be responsible for following up on any outstanding insurance accounts by payors portals, phone calls, or email/chat, until the account is resolved.  in this role, they are looking for someone with very strong hospital collection/follow-up background in government payors, specifically medi-cal and medicare.

the work hours are between 7:00am-8:00am to 3:30pm-4:30pm, monday-friday, 40 hours/week. please note that this a minimum 3–month+ (possible contact-hire) position starting in september 2022.

responsibilities:

responsible to follow-up on outstanding insurance accounts by payors portals, phone calls, or email/chat, until the account is resolved.

manage all denial appeals and underpayments of accounts assigned.

review daily correspondence, identify payor issues/trends and report to management, identify system error that are impacting workflows and report to management.

qualifications:

no certification is required for this position, but you must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical collections within a hospital setting.

must have very strong hospital collection/follow-up background in government payors - specifically medi-cal and medicare.

knowledge of hospital billing regulations of government accounts (medicare & medi-cal), as well as knowledge and experience in managed care contract rates and language interpretation.

must have epic experience, specific to hospital billing/follow-up resolute.

good analytical skills, good communication skills and a team player.
