inkhive printers is seeking to hire a new and creative in house graphic designer to the team. you must have a good understanding of the design software and must be willing to take the opportunity to learn the printing, production and finishing which will work alongside the designing of artwork. excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will work within a team alongside the graphics and marketing members – sharing the workload and utilising most effectively the key strengths of each member of the team. you will ensure that within both your work output and your professional conduct that you fully reflect the company’s values.

responsibilities will include:

liaising with clients to determine their requirements and budget

managing client proposals from typesetting through to design, print and production and finishing.

working with clients, briefing and advising them with regard to design style, format, print production and timescales

developing concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites

determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and font style and size

preparing rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief

reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required

as graphic designer, you will need:

graphic design experience - adobe, photoshop, illustrator

able to listen to abstract or verbal brief and translate into design

happy to challenge and be creative, find the edge, push it a little further

excellent it skills

exceptional creativity and innovation

excellent time management and organisational skills

accuracy and attention to detail

an understanding of the latest trends and their role within a commercial environment

professional approach to time, costs and deadlines
