he primary purpose of the ambulatory care technician certified position is to support the patient and the provider throughout the ambulatory care patient visit from registration through discharge and follow-up. the ambulatory care technician certified structures the patient flow for the physicians in examining and treating patients. as directed by a physician and university hospital policy, the ambulatory care technician certified administers intramuscular and subcutaneous injections which may be delegated under state regulations. support all front-end and clinical office procedures.

qualifications: graduation from a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by the commission on accreditation of allied health education (caahep) as recognized by the u.s. department of education. applicants may be licensed in the state of new jersey in another classification permitted by regulations to give intramuscular and subcutaneous injections. must have attained a satisfactory level of comprehension and experience in the administration of intramuscular and subcutaneous techniques. complete and pass annual medication administration review, including classroom curriculum, hands-on participation, and successful passing (80 or higher) of post-test. at least one (1) year of related experience in a medical office setting is preferred. must be computer proficient. bilingual (spanish, portuguese, or french) preferred. experience in an ambulatory care service/outpatient care setting preferred. candidate to be knowledgeable in managed care and health insurance in the state of new jersey.
