adecco is currently assisting a global supplier of scientific instrumentation, reagents and consumables, and software services in recruiting for lab assistant in south san francisco, ca. this is 12-month assignment.

 

shifts available: first shift

 

this position offers the opportunity to contribute to the product design and development of next-generation sequencing (ngs) systems supporting a broad range of research and regulated applications, including oncology companion diagnostic assays, gene expression profiling, and epigenetics. the successful candidate will help ensure that the ngs lab maintains best-in-class processes and standards for the development of ngs products.

as a lab assistant, you will work closely with the lab manager to execute lab processes in areas including material shipping/receiving, inventory management, and equipment life cycle.

 

key responsibilities:

  • assist in inventory management, which covers receiving, organizing, stocking and distribution to research teams.
  • carry out various laboratory day-to-day operations including lab organization (5s), perform lab asset management not limited to maintaining instrument calibration, servicing laboratory equipment, and managing equipment and asset database.
  • ensure adherence to regulatory and quality requirements to be in compliance with lab certifications such as iso 9001and 13485cfr21
  •  

    minimum requirements/qualifications:

  • bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, chemistry or equivalent disciplines.
  • minimum 2 years’ experience working with mainsaver and working with computer databases.
  •  

    preferred knowledge, skills, abilities:

  • knowledge in clinical lab protocols and laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • able to self-manage and work both independently and in coordination with lab manager good documentation practice (gdp) and good manufacturing process (gmp).
  • 5s lean practical process improvement (ppi)excellent attention to detail in record keeping and documentation.
  • able to communicate at all levels of the organization including managers and senior leaders in the organization.
