about this client:

kate, 23 is an active and sociable young lady. she has many interests: yoga, music, boccia, being in the company of others, taking trips, visiting her relatives, the list is long! kate attends a college which she really likes, she enjoys having a busy life. kate has quadriplegic athetoid cerebral palsy, she is a wheelchair user and is non-verbal. kate is using manual boards and eye gaze to communicate. kate requires 2:1 support with all her daily activities including personal care, feeding, medication and transfers.

overview of role:

we are seeking a reliable, caring and intuitive female live-in carer who will join kate’s team and enable her to live independently in her own home and pursue all the interests and activities she enjoys. your role will be to assist her with all daily tasks, provide personal care, meal preparation and housekeeping duties. you’ll drive kate to her college where she is supported by a member of college staff and accompany her to all her appointments and activities. the days of work are 5 days per week, the rota will be shared one month in advance, and you will have 2 consecutive days off each week, 1 weekend off a month. this position requires flexibility, when kate is at college you will have a free time however you need to be available to assist if needed. during the term time, the typical working hours will be before and after college (7 to 8 hours. at weekends and during holidays kate requires support throughout the day (typically 13 to 15 hours). there are plenty of breaks and you will be working with another team member. the exact hours are to be discussed with the successful candidates. salary offered is £23,000.00 to £27.000.00 gross per annum depending on experience.
