our client, a prestigious private members club in the heart of london, is looking for a professional head bartender and stock controller, ideally with experience in a similar position.

situated in beautiful belgravia, london, our client’s private club has been providing its members with comfort, fraternity and a home away from home since its founding in 1891. it is considered to be one of the friendliest clubs in london and is constantly evolving to meet the expectations of its members. currently, they are looking for a head bartender and stock controller to embody their values of excellent service.

about the role:

the purpose of the role is to control the day-to-day operation of the members bar and ground floor public areas of the club including the terrace garden, ensuring that the membership and guests enjoy and benefit from a consistently high standard of presentation and service.

key responsibilities:

to be aware of and adhere to the club rules and bye laws at all times during the day-to-day operations, and to be responsible for the security of club contents and other assets relating to the members bar, in particular the club silverware. to be aware of health and safety legislation in respect of members, guests and staff, and of fire policy and evacuation procedures. to ensure that members and guests are served efficiently and to the required standard. to ensure that your personal appearance is to the club’s standard. to ensure the members bar is ready for service at 11.30 a.m. and the ground floor and business centre are clean, tidy and presentable. ensure that the bar has sufficient stock for the day’s operation. records must be recorded in the correct manner. to check that the float is correct at the start of each shift, and that enough change is available. to ensure all monies and pay-in sheet are balanced & deposited at reception at the end of the evening. to ensure the terrace is correctly laid for service by 11.30 a.m. weather permitting. to closely supervise all staff in the department and report any misconduct to the mdr & bar manager. to ensure all the club’s glassware is treated and stored in the proper manner, and any breakages are reported to the mdr & bar manager. to ensure the bar cleaning rota is adhered to and silver cleaned on a regular basis. to ensure the cellars are maintained in a clean & tidy condition & that stock rotation is carried out. to issue all beverage stock to club outlets on a daily basis. to purchase all liquor stocks for the club in accordance with guidelines. to maintain the beverage stock take system ensuring all input is completed within 3 working days of the month end. to be aware and monitor any price changes from suppliers. to ensure that the ground floor areas are left clean and tidy. to be familiar with all aspects of the utility services and the procedures for both the fire alarm and burglar alarm. to liaise closely with the m.d.r. & bar manager and chef on a day-to-day basis to ensure the smooth & efficient running of the food & beverage areas. to be involved in the financial and budget planning process and produce revenue reports when required. to assist and carry out specific tasks as requested by the m.d.r. & bar manager.

the successful candidate will be someone who takes great pride in their work and appearance. they will have a professional manner and be comfortable interacting with members and carrying the club’s high standards of service. applicants must be fluent in english.
