for over 120 years newland house school, as a successful, flourishing co-educational independent day school for children from 4 to 13 years has been providing a compassionate, compelling and distinctive style of preparatory education. we foster independence and provide our students with a firm foundation and an environment in which they can learn through creativity and become passionate about the things around them.

during our inspection this summer, the isi found that 'the achievement of pupils, including their academic development’ and ‘the personal development of all pupils’ were ‘excellent’, which is the highest grade that can be obtained.

currently, we are seeking a marketing manager to conceive innovative and effective marketing strategies to promote our school. the main duties will be to increase the reach and impact of school’s profile and visibility through the delivery of high quality and influential communications and marketing. the postholder will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing a marketing strategy, which raises the profile of the school brand. you will work with an assistant who will be developing our social media profile.

key responsibilities:

you will be expected to play an active, hands-on role in delivery of the strategy and will be comfortable working at strategic and operational levels
provide expert advice and guidance to the slt on developing the school brand and provide strategies to increase pupil numbers where required
manage relationships and contracts with a variety of external service providers, including website providers, pr agencies, and local and national media contacts
support the school’s vision by developing and delivering a marketing and community engagement plan to promote, communicate and connect the school to prospective parents, the local and wider community, local and national organisations, charities and the industry sector.
seek opportunities to develop the school’s relationship within the local community and nationally through the creation and delivery of a community partnership programme which identifies the objectives and actions necessary to deliver our public benefit contribution and demonstrate our social responsibility
manage the marketing budget carefully and identify best return on investments and especially evaluate value of print advertising versus use of digital platforms
work with head of admissions to implement recruitment campaigns to drive awareness at key points in the pupil recruitment cycle and support admissions events including open mornings, induction events, workshops and communications when required
investigate and understand our competitors’ strengths, weaknesses and marketing strategies
monitor both online and offline media, maximising opportunities for positive pr

skills, experience and qualifications:

significant middle or senior management experience
proven marketing experience with a variety of stakeholders
educated to degree level and/or hold relevant professional qualifications
commitment to cpd
experience in digital marketing
strong and effectively leadership skills
highly skilled project management skills
excellent social, communication and presentation skills
ability to plan ahead and work to the highest standards
good it skills with experience in marketing, design and communications being essential
proven ability to work as part of a team
high level of organisational and time-keeping skills
