Calworks behavioral health counselor - united states, san jose

amazing company seeks behavioral health counselor to work primarily with calworks patients! this role will provide direct behavioral health services in home, clinic, and field settings. 

duties and responsibilities

  • provides individual, group, and family counseling and rehabilitation services.
  • develops culturally relevant assessment and treatment plans.
  • documents and maintains clinical records per appropriate standards and regulations.
  • participates in clinical supervision, consultations and trainings.
  • participates in on-call after hours rotation.
  • completes and maintains lps 5150 authorization certification and provides officer of the day support (licensed clinicians only).
  • completes other duties and related projects as assigned.

    qualifications

  • master's degree in social work, psychology or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • understanding of cultural issues, community resources and family dynamics.
  • ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural, professional, and experiential background.
  • ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships 
  • ca drivers license, current personal auto insurance, and an mvr 
  • ability to exercise independent clinical judgment within the scope of the program responsibilities.
  • knowledge of santa clara county department of social services, family advocates, social security agency, private insurance companies, victim witness and other involved agencies highly desired.
